Lombard is fondly called  the Lilac Village home to Lilacia Park, beautiful in-town when in full bloom. The Lombard Lilac Festival, held for 2 weeks in May each year, culminates with a Lilac Festival Parade, Lilac 5K Run, pancake breakfast, and crowning of the Lilac Queen each year. Started in 1930, the Lilac Festival is a wonderful hometown pagent of civic pride.

The Main Street home and studio of Harold Gray, the cartoon strip originator of Little Orphan Annie is on Main Street.

Close to Highways (I 355 and I 88 and I 290) Metra Union Pacific rail line services Chicago with a 28 minute ride to the city. Plenty of available parking.

Lombard offers a variety of retail along St. CharlesRoad , North Avenue, and Roosevelt corridors. Yorktown Center Mall has undergone a complete transformation with outlying new restaurants. Yorktown is anchored by Carson Pirie Scott, Von Maur, and JC Penneys. Specialty stores include the likes of Victoria Secrets(ooh la la) Eddie Bauer, Aeropostale, Lands End, Brookstone (do you need another gadget?), and American Eagle. Target is located on the backside of Yorktown next to the new Westin.
